Balance
"Life is like learning to ride a bicycle, to keep your balance you must keep moving." Al-bert Einstein.
As a toddler learning to walk, we first begin to look for balance. Our first steps teach us a life les-son that is sometimes forgotten. You see this with the tight rope walker and while just riding a bike. It helps to keep moving to maintain balance. This simple lesson can be applied to our life and our work.
Setting goals and continuing to move toward those goals, keeping the forward momentum and motivation to reach the destination we have chosen. Applying this philosophy to our life away from work can translate into a safer and more efficient environment at our job. Making time for personal interest such as hobbies, physical fitness, spiritual involvement or quality time spent with family and friends are known to be stress reducers.
There will always be times when we are required to either work more or to give more to our families and finding that balance is what makes us more complete person. Achieving balance is dependent on communication with the peo-ple we interact with, be it co-workers, family or friends. Just as a balanced life away from work can lead to a better work environment, finding balance at work will influence a more satisfying life away from work. It is most often when we become stagnate in our jobs or life that we lose bal-ance in all aspects of our life.
Keep moving, stay focused and balanced.
